Vocabulary & licenses

Wortwise’s vocabulary is adapted from German Frequency Deck v2.1 by Mohith Akash (MIT). Its frequency order derives from FrequencyWords by Hermit Dave (CC BY-SA 4.0).

We selected and normalized 1,000 entries, changed the data format, omitted media and secondary fields, and added editorial annotations and Arabic meanings. The adapted vocabulary dataset is available under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0. This license applies to the dataset, not the Wortwise application code or branding.

Arabic meanings were prepared with AI-assisted contextual review. Publisher Mazen Alsenih reviewed and approved all 1,000 Arabic meanings on 29 October 2026. They are not advertised as certified translations. The initial 1,000-word collection is a vocabulary resource, not a complete graded CEFR course.
